Lyon (Communauté Urbaine du Grand Lyon) is located in the department of Rhône, part of the Rhône-Alpes region, with a population of 1.1 million inhabitants. It is the second largest city in France. The Greater Lyon Urban Community, a joint-council committee, represents 55 municipalities (including Lyon).
